Low-Pitch Re-Roof — South Cle Elum

The Challenge

The low-slope roof had a documented history of ponding water and recurring leaks at multiple field seams. The existing system was not suited for the water volumes generated by snowmelt.

Standing water between snowmelt events was accelerating membrane deterioration and creating entry points for water through seam failures.

Our Approach

We removed the existing membrane system and installed a tapered insulation assembly to eliminate ponding areas and direct water toward drains and scuppers.

A TPO membrane system was installed over the new tapered insulation, with all seams heat-welded and all penetrations detailed with formed metal flashings.

A perimeter snow guard system was added to prevent sudden snow shedding events that could damage rooftop equipment or create hazards at building entry points.

Our approach

The Result

Ponding was eliminated and the roof has maintained consistent drainage performance through all seasons since installation.

The heat-welded TPO system has shown no seam failures and the tapered assembly continues to direct water away from all field areas.

Key Elements

  • Full ice and water shield coverage in vulnerable zones
  • Balanced ridge and intake ventilation system
  • Architectural composition shingles rated for high-wind and heavy weather exposure
  • Reinforced flashing at low-pitch transitions
  • Integrated underlayment system for moisture management
